A monthly review for side income
A review is where records turn into decisions. Once a month, take half an hour and answer five questions honestly.
The five questions
- How much did I keep after fees, costs and the tax share?
- How many hours did it take, including admin?
- Which tasks paid best for their time, and which worst?
- Has anything slipped at my job, at home or in my sleep?
- What one thing will I change next month?
Divide, don't guess
What you kept divided by hours spent is your real hourly figure. It's often lower than expected at first. That's useful to know early.
Change one thing
Drop a task, raise a rate, or move work to a better time of day. One change per month is easier to judge than five.
